Linear Inequalities in one ?

發問:

If a>b>c>d and a, b, c, d are all non-zero numbers, which of he following must be true? I. a + d > b + c II. a + c > b + d III. a / d > b / c A. II ONLY B. I AND II ONLY C. II AND III ONLY D. I , II AND III

最佳解答:

The question is : which of them MUST be true. If a=4, b=3, c=2, d=-1, then a+d=3, b+c=5, a+d is less than b+c, so I is wrong. a+c=6, b+d=1, a+c is greater than b+d, so II is right. a/d=-4, b/c=1.5, a/d is less than b/c, so III is also wrong. The ans is (A), II only.

其他解答:

C. II AND III ONLY let a=4,b=3,c=2,d=1 I. a + d > b + c 4+1>3+2 but both answer is 5 II. a + c > b + d 4+2>3+1 and it is correct III. a / d > b / c 4/1>3/2 4/1=4 3/2about=1 and4>1 and II AND III is correct so the answer is C. II AND III ONLY|||||The answer is C.
